We started operations in San Francisco in January 2009 as a sole proprietorship under the name “The IT Guy”. At that time, the focus was on delivering proactive, white glove service to very small businesses. We also became certified partners for a CRM software application called Daylite, which had a loyal following in the Mac community.
In 2012 we incorporated the business as “Smart Sourced IT” and shifted our focus to small-medium organizations that need ongoing IT support and systems management. We continue to work with such clients today, in addition to doing specific IT project work for a variety of other companies.

Selecting an IT provider requires thoroughness on both sides. That’s why we’ll spend 30 minutes with you on the phone to understand your challenge and recommend next steps toward creating a solution.
Raffi's interest in computers began at the age of 9, when he took a programming class. Soon thereafter, he was managing his dad's inventory tracking and order management system. A Bachelors and Masters degree later, and more than a decade of experience in the corporate world, helped Raffi become intimately acquainted with business process improvement and mapping techniques, and the application of IT in business to enhance productivity.
Raffi believes computers are tools that should enhance productivity; every hour an end-user spends dealing with an IT problem equals several hours of wasted focus and lost productivity. He takes an agnostic approach to computer brands, operating systems, and cloud ecosystems, while also emphasizing the need to select technologies that are interoperable.

With over 15 years of experience in providing end-user support, building and maintaining Windows Servers, Linux Servers, VMWare and HyperV virtual environments, designing and developing enterprise-level Sharepoint sites, architecting and maintaining Citrix Farms; Colleen has the experience to design and implement a Windows Domain (Physical,Virtual, or Hybrid) from scratch, specifically tailored to a customer’s needs and budget or to provide a detailed assessment on existing environments and make forward-thinking, cost-effective upgrade recommendations.
Colleen believes in talking tech using clear, simple, every-day language, instead of highly technical terms. She feels that computers and networks are very logical systems that can be understood by most people, when the components and processes are explained using simple analogies. She’s equally happy discussing technical issues with customers that are curious or skipping over the nerdy details and just making the problems go away!

IT Support is delivered effectively when there are back-end systems that keep machines updated and that spot potential problems. Patrick manages these back-end systems with finesse because they are… delicate, finicky, and demanding. He is also our resident expert on all things mass-deployment and Apple related.
